Sapphire FUE Blades

Designed for professional use, Sapphire is engineered into precision blades

  • Blades Width Size(mm): 0.7 0.8 0.9 1.00 1.1 1.2
  • All 60 degree angle
  • All 0.20 mm thickness
  • Manufactured from Swiss Synthetic Sapphire (Al₂O₃) via precision chemical synthesis
  • Mohs hardness: 9/10 — second only to diamond
  • Retains cutting edge significantly longer than steel, reducing per-procedure consumable costs

Performance

  • Practitioner-reported lifespan: 3,000–4,500 clean slits per blade
  • Post-peak use: blade remains functional with only a marginal increase in cutting pressure required

Clinical Advantage

  • Ultra-smooth edge and acute point minimise trauma to surrounding tissue
  • In areas with existing hair follicles, sapphire blades avoid the collateral damage associated with steel — protecting native follicles and improving overall graft survival, and potentially faster healing.

Technical Characteristics

• Ultra-thin 60º blade for reduced tissue impact
• Up to 20% smaller wound area compared to steel blades
• Optimised tip design for smooth penetration and minimal trauma
• Compatible with continuous and oscillating rotation
• Available sizes: 0.70, 0.80, 0,90, 1.0, 1.10 and 1.20 mm

Sterilisation Instructions

For sterilisation, first place the hair transplant blades in an enzyme solution to dissolve any residue for at least 15 minutes. Then place them in an ultrasonic device for 10 minutes. After that, allow them to dry and pack them in autoclave paper. Then place them in the autoclave for a full cycle.
Use an ultrasonic machine to clean the sapphire blade of any residue. After that, use an autoclave.

Sterilize the hair transplant knives and handles by scrubbing them and then processing them individually in an autoclave, before and after use.
  • Never use abrasive cleaners, steel brushes, or scouring pads — sapphire is hard but brittle and can chip.
  • Do not exceed 134°C for prolonged periods if the blade has adhesive-bonded components.
  • Do not sterilize a chipped or cracked blade — replace immediately.
  • Always follow your specific blade manufacturer's IFU (Instructions for Use) for any deviations from this protocol.
